SENATH, Mo. (KFVS) – A man is accused of seriously injuring a resident at the Senath South Health Care Center on Saturday, July 13.

According to charging documents, Christian C. Ault is accused of seriously and violently assaulting another resident at the nursing home with a toilet lid.

Ault is charged with assault first-degree.

According to a probable cause statement, Ault reportedly hit the victim several times in the head with the toilet lid until it broke.

The victim was flown to a Jonesboro, Arkansas hospital with serious injuries to the head and neck.

Police said there was a lot of blood all over the victim’s room.

Ault was arrested and taken to the Dunklin County Justice Center.

As he was being transported to the jail, Ault reportedly told police he wanted to go to jail and that the victim had hit him first.

At the jail, medical personnel looked over Ault’s left hand. Police said he had cut his hand when the toilet lid broke.

Ault was then taken to a hospital for treatment.
