Dawson Manor employee arrested for assaulting 83-year-old patient, according to witnesses.
DAWSON, Ga. (WALB) – A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) working at Dawson Manor has been arrest after a claim of patient abuse was filed by three other CNAs.
On Tuesday, Jan. 28 an officer with the Dawson Police Department responded to Dawson Manor in reference to a report of abuse.
Upon arrival, the officer met with the nurse at Dawson Manor who had notified law enforcement of the incident, Shalonda Wells. Wells informed the officer that three of her CNAs filed a claim that another CNA, Willie Pearl Green, was seen physically assaulting 83-year-old Hellen Redding.
After speaking with the witnesses, victim, and alleged offender, the officer found enough evidence against Green.
She was arrested and charged with the following:
- Elder abuse
- Aggravated assault
- Battery against patient in personal care home, hospice, or long term care facility or assisted living
Green was taken to the Terrell County Jail. This case is an ongoing investigation.
