Every month from January 2017 to October 2017, DIVERSICARE OF DOVER received an OVERALL STAFFING rating of 1-star out of 5 from CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services), the lowest rating possible for a nursing home.
Under-staffing has been determined to cause patient injury and dignity violations according to numerous scientific studies. (Click here to read some of these studies).
The Institute of Medicine and the American Nurses Association have concluded that each nursing home resident needs a minimum of 2.80 hours of CNA care per day for safety and basic services. But DIVERSICARE OF DOVER averaged only 1.52 hours of CNA care per resident per day from January 1, 2017 to September 30, 2017, based on its daily payroll staffing records, as published by CMS.
These low staffing levels significantly reduced DIVERSICARE OF DOVER’s labor costs. According to its most recently published Medicare Cost Report, DIVERSICARE OF DOVER generated annual gross revenues of $7,804,734.
